Dr. Laura Young, O.D.

Dr. Laura Young is a dedicated optometrist who combines clinical knowledge with a personal understanding of how vision affects daily life. Originally from Baltimore, she earned her undergraduate degree at Gettysburg College and then completed her Doctor of Optometry at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Jenkintown, PA.

Her interest in optometry began early. Her childhood double vision and the care she received affected her. That experience still shapes how she approaches patient care today. Since entering practice in 2013, Dr. Young has been passionate about helping her patients preserve their vision, improve comfort, and better understand their eye health.

Dr. Young is a member of both the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians and the American Optometric Association. She has a special interest in fitting specialty contact lenses and managing ocular diseases such as dry eye and glaucoma. She describes contact lens fittings as a problem-solving process with a purpose, one that challenges and inspires her.

When she's not in the office, Dr. Young enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, their family dog, and a very senior cat. You’ll often find them soaking up the sun at the Jersey Shore or exploring local coffee spots when they get a quiet moment.
