Dr. Angelo Aiello
Dr. Angelo Aiello, who graduated from Moorestown Senior High School, is a 1968 graduate of Glassboro State College, now Rowan University, with a BA in Education. His teaching career was interrupted by three years in the US Army, including a year in Vietnam, working with 5th Special Forces as a special agent in counterintelligence.
He graduated from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1978 and has been in private practice in Riverside and Delran since then.
In 1983, Dr. Aiello started his specialty in geriatric optometry, helping to build Senior Medical Services, the largest provider of nursing home eye care in the Delaware Valley, serving almost 100 nursing facilities. Recognizing the increasing demand for home health services, his office has begun to offer house calls for those unable to leave their homes for eye care or glasses. It is anticipated that this aspect of the practice will grow considerably in the future.
Since 1987, Dr. Aiello has been working with the ORCHID Foundation, which supports a home/school for destitute and orphaned children in the Dominican Republic. He is married with two sons and a daughter and resides in Mt. Laurel, NJ.
Dr. Laura Young
Dr. Laura Young, who is originally from Baltimore, Maryland, completed her undergraduate work at Gettysburg College. After completing three years at Gettysburg,on the Dean’s List, she was accepted to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO).
While attending PCO, Dr. Young was taught by many knowledgeable clinicians and professors including Dr. JoAnn Bailey. During her final two years at PCO, Dr. Young completed rotations focused in pediatrics, contact lenses, low vision and eye disease. She also worked on rotation at the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Wills Eye Institute in Philadelphia. Dr. Young recently graduated from PCO with a Doctorate of Optometry as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
Dr. Young enjoys working with a wide range of patients including children and adults. In addition, she strives to stay current on advances in optometric medicine including refractive conditions, ocular diseases and their treatments.
Dr. Young comes from a family of four that currently reside in Baltimore. As a Baltimore native, she is an avid Ravens and Orioles fan. She also enjoys going to the shore and exploring the restaurants, parks and museums of her new home, Philadelphia.
